Two former NCAA scholarship student-athletes join Team CSUSA
By Team CSUSAJemma White joins CSUSA after many successful years in the US college scholarship industry and is a former student-athlete at Saint Leo University women’s soccer in NCAA D2. Gustaf Moberg joins our team after five successful years as an NCAA D1 student-athlete at Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania where he earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree.
– Jemma and Gustaf were outstanding candidates when they applied, and our interview processes confirmed the impression we had of them. Jemma has great experience from the college recruiting game and has a big network in the US and the UK already. She will hit the ground running with us. Our students will love working with her. We’re always thrilled to hire a former CSUSA-athlete and Gustaf checks all the boxes to be successful here. He is sharp, is a great communicator and his values align with how we want to help our student-athletes. We’re starting 2022 in the best possible way with these additions to the team, said Kim Moe Krohn, COO at College Scholarships USA.
“The Jemma White File”
Jemma White started her college career at Saint Leo University in Florida – an NCAA D2 “powerhouse”. She won Rookie of the Year honors in 2011. At Saint Leo, Jemma studied sport business management with extracurricular classes for athletic training. Jemma returned to England in 2014 and enrolled at Leeds Beckett University where she continued her studies in Sport & Exercise Science and graduated with 2:1 honors. During her time in Leeds, Jemma signed for football giants Leeds United and continued to play at a semi-professional level alongside her role as a recruitment consultant in Health & Medicine.
In 2016, Jemma made the switch to Nottingham Forest Women where she received Manager’s Player of the Year in the Women’s National Premier League earning an opportunity with her hometown club Sheffield United Women in the Women’s Superleague. She combined her playing with working in the US college scholarship industry, successfully placing over 150 student-athletes at universities all over the US. She is also the current head coach of Farsley Junior Women FC
– Going to university in the US on a soccer scholarship was one of the most challenging and rewarding things I’ve ever done. It is, in my opinion, what everyone should experience if they get the chance. The teammates, the facilities, the competition is so different from anything I’ve had here in the UK, even now it’s worlds apart. If I got the chance to rewind time and do it all over again, there would be no hesitation. I am thrilled to continue working with student-athletes and helping them find the ideal place to combine their sport with getting a degree, said White.
“The Gustaf Moberg File”
Gustaf Moberg is from Mariefred, Sweden, but spent a big part of his life growing up in Taiwan. During his high school years, Gustaf played soccer for Åtvidaberg FF u19s. At the time Åtvidaberg FF was part of the top division (Allsvenskan) in Sweden. He made numerous appearances with the U21 team as well as two exhibition games with the men’s team. He was helped to the US on a college soccer scholarship by CSUSA.
Gustaf spent his whole college career at NCAA D1 school, Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At RMU he began competing in the Northeast Conference for the first three years, and later in the Horizon League for his last two years. Gustaf played an important role in the team, and as a junior, he was named captain of the team.
At RMU, Gustaf completed his bachelor’s degree in Management as well as a master’s degree in Business Administration with a certificate in Business Analytics, with many academic awards along the way. He has gained work experience as a controller for the financial department of Scania CV AB prior to joining CSUSA.
– Taking the step over to the United States has really changed my life for the better. I have gained experiences that have shaped me into a better human being. Thanks to CSUSA I have managed to combine academics with the sport that I love in such a crucial part of my life. In the US I was part of something big with everyone wanting to succeed and improve every day. I am thrilled to start working with my own student-athletes and find fantastic options for them in the college system, said Moberg.
Welcome to the team Jemma and Gustaf!
